Westfield State University
Westfield State University, formerly Westfield State College, is a public four-year university with an annual enrollment of roughly 5,500 students. Westfield State was founded by Horace Mann, an educator and social reformist, in 1838 and is located in Westfield, Massachusetts. Westfield State was one of the first higher education institutions in the United States to admit students without respect to gender, race, or economic class.Westfield State University offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Undergraduate degrees include the Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Special Education (B.S.E.) and Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.). At the graduate level, Westfield State awards the Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.), Master of Education (M.Ed.) and Master of Social Work (M.S.W.). The university offers over 30 majors and 30 minors in 40 academic disciplines and concentrations.
