University of California-Irvine

University of California-Irvine (also known as UCI or UC Irvine) is a public university located in Irvine, California, and is the fifth largest university in the University of California system. It was built in the 1960s to accommodate returned World War II vets as well as the coming generation of baby boomers who were seeking career-oriented education and training. UC Irvine is often referred to as a Public Ivy schools since it offers an educational experience on par with that offered at Private Ivy League institutions such as Standford and Harvard.

UC Irvine offers 80 undergraduate degrees and roughly 100 graduate and professional programs in 55 fields of study and 178 discipline specific specialties. The school is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and professionally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Several of the academic colleges at UC Irvine also hold professional accreditation within their respective fields.

The University of California-Irvine has been ranked 31st in the nation and 45th in the world by the Academic Ranking of World Universities. Nearly 40 of the school's graduate programs have been ranked in the top 20 in the United States. The university is affiliated with the teaching hospital UC Irvine Medical Center, and also administers to several other health organizations.

Merage School of Business

The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine awards the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (BABS), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Accountancy (MPAc), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), and MS in Biotechnology Management.

The MBA program at UC Irvine is one of the top ranked MBA programs in the nation. In 2015, it was ranked No.45 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Financial Times ranked it 21st in the U.S. and 43rd internationally. BusinessWeek ranked the UC Irivine MBA program 31st nationally in 2014 and its Executive MBA program 36th. Forbes Magazine ranked the MBA program at UC Irvine 42nd in the nation in 2014.

Online Degree Programs

Through UC Online, University of California students have the opportunity to complete online courses remotely from the comfort of their home, office or dorm room. While the University of California is in the process of growing its online curriculum, most courses have to completed at a campus location, and online degrees are not actually offered entirely online yet.
