University of Alaska Anchorage

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is a public four-year university with nearly 20,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students. 16,000 of UAA students attend the university's main campus in Anchorage while 3,000+ are enrolled at UAA community campuses. Community campuses include Kodiak College, Prince William Sound College, Kenai Peninsula College and Matanusak-Sustina College. The University of Alaska Anchorage is the largest university and institution of higher learning in the state of Alaska.

At its main campus in Anchorage, the University of Alaska is composed of six academic colleges, which include the Colleges of Health and Social Welfare, Education, Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Policy, the School of Engineering and the Community and Technical College. Students who attend UAA have the opportunity to earn an associate of applied science (AAS) degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree or graduate certificate in various fields of studies and disciplines.

With a partnership with the University of Washington School of Law and Willamette University College of Law, UAA enables its students to earn their bachelor's degree and law degree in just six years – instead of the traditional seven. In this 3+3 accelerated program, students are able to complete their bachelor's degree in 3 years and their law degree in 3 years.

UAA was ranked 29th in the Western United States among public regional universities by U.S. News & World Report in 2016. It was ranked 79th among all regional universities in the West. Forbes ranked UAA 95th in West among regional universities in 2015. The University of Alaska Anchorage is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and is one of the most respected university's in Alaska and the Western United States.
