Theology and Religious Vocations College Majors and Degree Programs

Theology and religious vocational programs help prepare students for careers in the professional practice of religious occupations. These programs will educate students on the intramural study of theology, providing them with a depth of knowledge and insight that will help them effectively and compassionately help others in a variety of religious capacities. Theologic specialties might include biblical studies, missionary studies, religious education, sacred music, general theology, and divinity, as well as rabbinical or talmudic studies. Graduates of theological programs might want to practice in youth or urban ministries, serve in proselytizing missions, or specialize in ministries for women, families, or pastoral counseling.
