New York University

New York University (NYU) was established in 1831 and is one of the largest non-profit universities in the United States. It is comprised of 20 individual academic colleges and schools. The university has learning centers in Downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. In addition to its main campus in Lower Manhattan, NYU has education and learning centers located in Abu Dhabi, Shanghai and 11 other international locations including Paris, Berline, Accra, London, Tel Aviv, Buenos Aires, Sydney and Prague.

Of its 20 academic divisions, Arts and Science is the largest. The Arts and Science department at NYU is composed of three divisons: the College of Arts and Science, Liberal Studies department and the Graduate School of Arts and Science. The College of Arts and Science has been in existence since NYU was founded.

NYU is well known for being one of the largest collegiate research institutions in the world. In 2014 alone, the university received over $500 million from the National Science Foundation in research grants–and those funds were only a fraction of the school's research budget for the the year.

Not surprisingly, NYU is one of the top ranked higher education institutions in the United States. It has been ranked among the top universities by Business Insider, U.S. News & World Report, QS World University Rankings and Academic Ranking of the World Universities.

Leonard N. Stern School of Business

The Stern School of Business, more commonly referred to as Stern, is one of the top business schools in the state of New York as well as the entire United States. Founded as the School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance in the early 1900s, Stern was one of the first business schools to be established in the United States. Stern is located on NYU's main campus in Greenwich Village in Lower Manhattan.

Online Learning at NYU

Through its School of Professional Studies Paul McGhee Division, NYU offers various online learning and degree programs for current students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. NYU also offers several convenient online degree and certificate programs for aspiring working professionals who are unable to attend a traditional campus based program.
