Fort Hays State University

Fort Hays State University (FHSU) is a public higher education institution governed by the Kansas Board of Regents that is located in Hays, Kansas. FHSU has a total student body of approximately 12,000 (5,000 undergraduate, 1,000 grauate, and 6000 online students) and a full-time academic staff of just over 850. FHSU offers an exceptional higher education offering that includes both campus-based and online learning formats.

FHSU offers over 60 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate degree programs in a variety of academic fields and professional disciplines. Degrees are awarded through the university's four colleges: Business and Entrepreneurship; Health and Life Sciences; Arts Humanities and Social Sciences; and Education and Technology. At the undergraduate level, FHSU offers both 2-year associate degrees and 4-year bachelor's degrees.

Through its "Virtual College" FHSU offers an extensive selection of online learning and degree options for working adults and non-traditional students who are unable to earn a degree on campus. Currnetly, FHSU offers 19 online bachelor's degrees and 10 online master's degrees. Online certificates and endorsements are also available. FHSU's Virtual College is one of the top ranked online colleges in the nation. Its online human resource, information technology, computer science, counseling and nursing programs are also ranked among the top 10 in the nation within their respective disciplines. FHSU online degrees and courses are also available to students attending other higher education institutions.

Fort Hays State University is regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Several of its individual departments and academic colleges are also professionally accredited.
