Centre College

Centre College is a private four-year liberal arts college with approximately 1,380 students and an academic staff of 145. It is located 35 miles south of Lexington in Danville, Kentucky. The college is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church but accepts students of all religious faiths and backgrounds. Students are required to complete a general education curriculum and select a major area of study.

Centre College awards Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in various fields of study and disciplines. Currently the college offers 27 majors and 28 minors. About a quarter of the students at Center complete a double major. Students also have the opportunity to design their own major or complete a dual-major in engineering through academic partnerships with the engineering departments at Vanderbuilt University, Columbia University, Washington University (St. Louis) and University of Kentucky.

Over 85% of Centre students participate in the college's study abroad program before graduating. International education is a strong focus of Centre College. In fact, Centre College was ranked No.1 in the nation for student participation in study abroad. Centre is one of the few schools in the nation to provide free passports to all students who do not already have one. Centre College has international education centers in France, Mexico, Scotland, Spain, Japan, China, England and Northern Ireland.
