University of Rochester

University of Rochester is a non-profit, private research university located in Rochester, New York. The university is comprised of six academic schools and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including bachelor's, master's, doctoral and professional degrees. The university is particularly well known for its Simon School of Business Administration and Eastman School of Music – both nationally ranked programs in their respective fields.

The University of Rochester has an annual enrollment of roughly 6,000 undergraduate students and 5,000 graduate students. It employs about 2,300 full-time tenure-track faculty and professors. Unlike most universities that require undergraduate student to complete specific core courses, outside of a prerequisite writing course, undergraduates are able to choose their own courses as long as they complete a required number of credits in humanities, natural sciences and social sciences.

The university has an annual research budget of roughly $395 million and consistently ranks among the top colleges and universities in science, engineering and medical research. It is currently expanding its research in the areas of biomedical engineering and optics.

Simon Graduate School of Business Administration
The William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration is the business school at the University of Rochester. It is ranked as one of the top business schools nationally and internationally. It is well known for its MBA program which is also ranked among the top in the United States. The school offers full-time, part-time and executive MBA programs, as well as Master of Science (MS) and Phd programs in various business disciplines.

Areas of conentration offered in the school's MBA program include Business Environment, E-commerce, Entrepreneurship, Public Accounting, Accounting and Information Systems, Health Sciences, Marketing, International Management, Operations Management, Finance, Public Policy, Business Systems Consulting, and Competitive and Organizational Strategy.

Simon Master of Science programs can be completed 9-17 months are offered in Finance, Business Management, Medical Management, Marketing Analytics, Finance, Business Analytics, Healthcare Management and Accountancy. Phd programs are offered in Accounting, Computer and Information Systems, Operations Management, Finance, Marketing, and Competitive and Organizational Strategy.

Online Learning and Degree Programs
The University of Rochester offers several online learning opportunities for current students. The university offers continuing nursing education, a certificate in online teaching, an e-Theory course in music, Executive MBA program and continuing medical education via online learning. However, most undergraduate and graduate degree programs at Rochester require campus attendance and are not offered online.
