Underwood-Smith Teacher Scholarship

The Underwood-Smith Teacher Scholarship is an award sponsored by West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.

Scholarship information:

Amount of Scholarship: Minimum - $2500, Average - $4662, Maximum - $5000
Application Deadline: 15-April
Scholarship Requirements: Candidate must be a West Virginia resident who will attend a West Virginia institution of higher education full time, seeking teacher certification at the preschool, elementary, or secondary level. Undergraduate applicant must rank in the top tenth of class, score in the top tenth statewide of those taking the ACT, or have a cumulative 3.25 grade point average after successfully completing two years of course work at an approved institution. Graduate applicant must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average and have graduated in the top tenth of college class.
Eligibility: College junior, College senior, Master's-level study
