Scholarship Description
The Truman D. Picard Scholarship is available to high school seniors and college students who are Alaskan Natives or of Native American descent. You must be pursuing an education in natural resources to qualify for this scholarship. To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit a letter of application (no more than two pages long) demonstrating the following: interest in natural resources; commitment to education and community/culture; academic merit; and financial need. To apply, the award also requires that applicants submit three letters of reference, a resume and validated enrollment in a federally recognized tribe or Native Alaska corporation. High school seniors applying for this ward also need to provide documented proof of application to an institution of higher education for study in the area of natural resources. If you are currently a college student, you will need to provide documented proof that you are currently enrolled and studying in the area of natural resources.
