The Senator Joel Abromson Memorial Scholarship

The The Senator Joel Abromson Memorial Scholarship is an award sponsored by Equality Maine Foundation.

Scholarship information:

Amount of Scholarship: Average - $1000
Application Deadline: 15-April
Scholarship Requirements: Applicants must submit the following to the Scholarship Committe: A cover letter which states the applicant's name, address, phone number, name of high school, and the name of the higher educational institution that he or she is planning to attend; An essay on a separate piece of paper, without the applicant's name, discussing the following question: How can schools become safer for all students regardless of their sexual orientation or gender expression?; One letter of recommendation; A copy of the acceptance letter from the selected institution of higher education. Winning essays will be announced on www.equalitymaine.org. The importance of having a cover letter enclosed with the essay is stressed, as the selection process will be completely confidential.
