Save Our History National Honors Scholarship

The Save Our History National Honors Scholarship is an award sponsored by History Channel, The.

Scholarship information:

Amount of Scholarship: Twenty-Four $1,000 scholarships and one $5,000 scholarship will be awarded.
Application Deadline: 7-April
Scholarship Requirements: Each year, The History Channel honors students who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to learning about, documenting and preserving their local history. If you are a student in high school and have participated in an in-class or extracurricular local history project, a history-themed service-learning project, or a history-related independent or youth group volunteer project, you could win one of 24 $1,000 cash scholarships in the Save Our History National Honors! One student will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a free trip to Washington, D.C., where he/she will be recognized as the Save Our History Student of the Year at the Save Our History National Honors Event in May 2006. Every student who submits an application for the National Honors will receive a Certificate of Participation from the History Channel. Candidate must be a high school student who attends a public, private or home school located within the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Applicants must study American, state, or local history in a social studies or history class, or perform a history themed service learning a project with a school, youth group, or community organization, but do not need to participate in a Save Our History program to enter or be eligible to win.
