NIS Research Scholar Program

The NIS Research Scholar Program is a grant sponsored by ACTR/ACCELS.

Scholarship information:

Amount of Grant: Minimum - $5000, Average - $10000, Maximum - $25000
Application Deadline: January 15, October 1
Scholarship Requirements: Award is for individual research in the countries of the NIS (New Independent States): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Balarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Applicants are selected based on their academic credentials, language skills, need for in-country resources, quality of research proposal, letters of recommendation, and financial need forms. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident demonstrating financial need. Applicants must submit an application form, a research proposal in English and in the host country language, and letters of recommendation. Three competitions per year.
