Michigan State University (commonly referred to by locals as MSU or MI State University) is a four-year, public university located in East Lansing, Michigan.

MSU awards undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as certificates, in over nearly 400 disciplines and fields of study. Michigan State University is a regionally accredited institution. It currently maintains active accreditation status wth the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is professionally accredited through the American Academy for Liberal Education. Many of the university's individual academic colleges and schools also maintain their own professional accreditations.

In addition to traditional bachelor, master and doctoral degree programs, MSU also offers dual/joint degrees, distance learning programs, and a study abroad program. MSU honors all credits earned by high school students who've completed Advanced Placement (AP) courses and passed their AP exams.

Michigan State University's industrial and organizational psychology, elementary education, secondary education, and nuclear physics programs have been ranked No. 1 by US News & World Report within their respective fields consistently for many years.

Currently, MSU has a total annual enrollment of roughly 47,840 students at its central campus, making it the largest university in the state of Michigan.

Eli Broad College of Business
The Eli Broad College of Business at MSU, more commonly referred to Eli Broad, offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a variety of business disciplines including accounting, management, finance, marketing, human resource management, hospitality, and supply chain management. Eli Broad has maintained accreditation through the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since the early 1950s. Eli Broad students have the opportunity to pursue online certificates in hospitality management, strategic leadership and supply chain management. Online for-credit graduate certificates are availale in leadership, strategic management and supply chain management.

Online Learning
Michigan State University now offers current students over 100 undergraduate and graduate courses that can be completed online. It also offers various personal enrichment and non-credit programs entirely online via the Internet. Areas of study available online include criminal justice, food safety, adult education, biomedical science, nursing, physics, social work, health services, education and public health, among many others.
