The Johnson F. Hammond, M.D., Memorial Scholarship is an award sponsored by American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation.

Scholarship information:

Award Amount: Average - $3000
Application Deadline: 31-January
Scholarship Requirements: Candidate must have high moral character and outstanding achievement with a demonsrated interest and involvement in medical journalism. Candidate must be nominated by dean of an AMA-approved medical school. The following materials (original and one copy) should be submitted: letter of nomination from the Office of the Dean (addressed to J. Edward Hill, M.D., President, AMA Foundation), applicant's letter of application and CV, letter of recommendation from professional who is involved in some area of medical journalism and is familiar with the student's work, and reprints of published articles prepared by the applicant to support the nomination.
