Scholarship information:
Award Amount: Average - $2000
Application Deadline: in July
Scholarship Requirements: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and an underrepresented minority (African-American, Native American [including Eskimo, Alaskan Aleut, Hawaiian Native], Mexican-American, or mainland Puerto Rican) student enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school who has recieved National Medical Fellowships financial assistance during his or her second year. Candidate must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and leadership. Candidate must be nominated by medical school dean and submit essay, letters of recommendation, and academic transcripts. Nomination should be submitted in July. For additional information, send a 9x12 self-addressed, stamped envelope (55 cents).
