Harry C. Bates Merit Scholarship
The Harry C. Bates Merit Scholarship is a financial award sponsored by International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC).
Scholarship information:
Award Amount: Minimum - $400, Maximum - $2000
Application Deadline: June 1 (Canada); mid-October (U.S.)
Scholarship Requirements: Candidate must be the natural or legally adopted child of a current, retired, or deceased International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen member. U.S. applicant must take PSAT/NMSQT during junior year of high school. If test results qualify applicant as a semifinalist, this information must be reported to the International Union by mid-October. Canadian applicant does not have to take a qualifying test. One U.S. award and two Canadian awards are given. Selection is based upon test scores (U.S. only), grades, leadership qualities, and extracurricular achievements.
