George Choy Memorial Gay Asian Pacific Alliance Scholarship

The George Choy Memorial Gay Asian Pacific Alliance Scholarship is an award sponsored by Horizons Foundation.

Scholarship information:

Award Amount: Maximum - $1000
Application Deadline: 30-June
Scholarship Requirements: Candidate must be self-identified as an Asian/Pacific Islander (at least 25% Asian/Pacific Islander ancestry), be living in one of the nine Bay Area counties: Alemeda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, Sonoma, and Solano, be in the process of applying to or enrolled at a postsecondary institution, and have a minimum 2.75 grade point average. Preference given to applicants self-identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender or involved in the LGBT community. Application form, transcripts, letter of recommendation from a teacher, school administrator, counselor, employer, or community leader highlighting community activism and leadership skills, and essay required.
