Amount of Grant: Maximum - $5000

Scholarship Requirements: Candidate must be a full-time faculty member at a Canadian university which is a member of AUCC, a full-time researcher at a recognized Canadian research institute, a full-time graduate student at a Canadian university, or a full-time faculty member in a recognized higher institute of education, a full-time researcher at a recognized research institute, or a full-time graduate student enrolled at a recognized institute of higher education in one of the following countries: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Canadian applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese. Latin American applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English or French. Proposed research project must concern one or more of the International Development Research Center's themes: food security, equity in natural resource use, biodiversity conservation, sustainable employment, strategies and policies for healthy societies, information and communication, or gender.
