The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowships for East European Scholars is a scholarship sponsored by American Research Institute in Turkey (ARIT).

Scholarship information:

Award Amount: Maximum - $11500
Application Deadline: 1-November
Scholarship Requirements: Intellectuals from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia with PhDs or similar degrees who are permanent residents or citizens of the aforementioned countries can apply for this scholarship. Preference is provided to scholars beginning their careers who have not traveled extensively through the world. Fellows are expected to participate full-time in their respective projects and be actively involved with the activities sponsored by the Institute's centers in Istanbul and Ankara. Those who have held a fellowship under this program 5 years before the fellowship year are not eligible for the award.
