American Express Scholarship

The American Express Scholarship is an award sponsored by American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF).

Scholarship information:

Award Amount: Minimum - $500, Average - $1000, Maximum - $2000, disbursed twice a year.
Application Deadline: May 1 (American Express Academic Scholarship); January 1, April 1, July 1 or October 1 (Educational Institute of AH&LA Scholarship)
Scholarship Requirements: Candidates must be employed (at least 20 hours every week) at a hotel or motel that is part of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) and have worked at a hotel for at least 12 months. Dependents of AH&LA-member motel or hotel workers cannot apply. Scholarships are also available for students interested in distance learning and professional certification programs offered at the Educational Institute of AH&LA. Eligibility: Must be college freshman, sophmore, junior or senior.
