American Academy of Dramatic Arts-WestThe American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) is a performing arts conservatory that offers a two-year program in the performing arts. The academy has campuses in Manhattan, New York City and in Los Angeles, California. The primary mission of AADA is to train professional actors.
Admission to the first year American Academy of Dramatic Arts program requires an audition. After students complete their first year training, they must reapply and audition again to be admitted for the second year of training. The academy has traditionally offered training in theatre. However, it now also offers courses in film and television. Students who successfully graduate from the Los Angeles program are awarded a Certificate of Completion or Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Acting.
Many of AADA graduates have gone on to have distinguished acting careers. A few have won Oscars, Emmys and Tonys.
