Alabama G.I. Dependents' Scholarship

The Alabama G.I. Dependents' Scholarship is an award sponsored by Alabama GI and Dependents Educational Benefit Act.

Scholarship information:

Award Amount: Average - $1150, Full Tuition, plus books and lab fees
Application Deadline: None
Scholarship Requirements: Candidates must be dependent children or step-child under 26 of a disabled veteran, spouse, or unmarried widower. They must be studying at a state-supported school in Alabama. The veteran must have faithfully served a minimum of 90 days of active duty service, be rated 20 percent or higher disabled due to service-related injuries or have held qualifying rating when they passed on, or be a former POW, MIA, or have died from combat wounds or other activities while serving on active duty. The veteran must have been Alabama residents for a minimum of a year before joining military or any future period of military service in where a break in service occurred and residency was already established. Dependents of permanently disabled veterans rated at 100% qualify after veteran has proven he or she has lived in Alabama for a minimum of 5 years.
Eligibility: College freshman, College sophomore, College junior, College senior, Master's-level study, Doctoral-level study
