The AIL Lawrence Bankowski AFGWU Scholarship Award is a scholarship sponsored by American Flint Glass Workers Union.

Award Amount: Average - $1000
Application Deadline: 1-August
Scholarship Requirements: Candidates are required to be seniors in high school and have a parent, step-parent, or legal guardian who has been a member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union for a minimum of a year. Candidates of parents not in good standing can apply if any of the following applies: member recently passed away during previous year and was in good standing for a minimum of a year, member is sick but permitted to return after recovery, or worker was laid off but still in good standing with organization. Candidates must write a 500 word essay on topic chosen by the National President. Children of national representatives or officers and national union employees do not qualify.
