Many adults do not possess the essential skills and knowledge to succeed in an ever changing complex world. Improving adult literacy improves individual independence, improved family relationships, and increased civic involvement. Therefore, improving adult literacy enhances individuals, families, the economy, efficiency at work, and society at large.
