Admiral Raphael Semmes Scholarship

The Admiral Raphael Semmes Scholarship is a financial award sponsored by United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Scholarship information:

Scholarship Requirements: Candidates must have descended from Confederates or members of the United Daughters of the Confederacy or Children of the Confederacy. They must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, be studying at an accredited educational institution, and complete a minimum of 12 hours a semester. Candidates must also prove their a descendent of a Confederate, submit a letter of recommendation from a sponsoring Chapter, fill out a financial report, submit grade transcripts, write an essay about the importance of southern heritage, and provide a wallet-size photograph. Original and 4 copies of the application, 5 copies of every document, letters, and certificates, must be provided to the Division Director of Education. All submissions must include a stamped and self-addressed envelope.
Eligibility: Must be college freshman, sophmore, junior or senior.
